Family Medicine Clinic of Danville, PSC was founded in 1999 and has been located at 640 E. Lexington Avenue in Danville since 2000. We currently have three providers on staff to serve the needs of your entire family.
Richard Hempel, MD
Dr. Hempel founded Family Medicine Clinic of Danville, PSC in 1999. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1981 with a BA in Biology with High Distinction. He subsequently graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1985 and completed his residency in Family Medicine in Tallahassee, Florida in 1988. He has lived in Danville since 1990 after serving two years as a member of the National Health Service Corps.
Dr. Hempel is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and also has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatrics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. He has assisted the ABFM in preparing certification exams for both Family Medicine and Geriatrics for over 15 years.
Dr. Hempel is married to Sarah and they have three sons. He is an avid sports enthusiast and has a passion for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He enjoys participating in triathlons, running, leisure reading and spending time with his wife and sons on his farm in Mercer County.
Jennifer C. Daniel, APRN
Jennifer Daniel is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She joined FMCOD in 2014. Jennifer graduated from Centre College in 1993 and completed her Nursing education at the University of Florida. After almost a decade of Emergency Nursing she completed her Master’s at the University of Northern Kentucky. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds an advanced certification by the Emergency Nurses Association.
Jennifer lives in Danville with her husband Roger, their three sons, two dogs, bunny rabbit, cat and an ever changing number of fish. She enjoys reading, cooking and being outdoors. Having lived on or near the coast for a number of years, she is always looking forward to her next beach trip.
